Sosayitisaid's Last Minute Mock

It's draft day everybody! Here is my last shot at working this thing out. All the buzz was about pick 4 in previous weeks, but now it's really on 3. Are the Vikes smokescreening? Yes, says I. And I've only included a modest 5 trades that haven't yet been made...

1 Indianapolis Colts  - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
Shock.

2 Washington Redskins (FROM STL) - Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
Shock 2.

3 Minnesota Vikings - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU
The Vikings are desperate to move down, that's why all this conflicting chatter is around. But 3rd is too high for anyone to move up to if they're in love with Kalil or Richardson (except maybe the Rams...) If the Vikes are stuck, they take the best prospect on their board, Mo Claiborne.

Mo Claiborne, #3 to Vikings
4 Cleveland Browns -Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama
Too high for Tannehill. Their real decision here is between Trent and Blackmon. Trent is potentially the 3rd best player in the whole draft; Blackmon is good, but he's not that good.

TRADE! 5 Buffalo Bills (FROM TB) - Ryan Kalil, OT, USC
The guy that Bucs really wanted went at 3, and they know Kalil will get past the Browns, so they're open for business to a team that needs a stellar OT. The Bills can afford to jump up to 5 where they couldn't afford to get to 3. The Bucs will get much needed extra picks, but whether it'll be a first in 2013, I'm not sure.

6 St Louis Rams (FROM WAS) - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St.
The Rams got picks and still get their guy. As a Rams fan, I've been unsure about Blackmon for a while, but 2 things have calmed my nerves. 1) Mayock has him high on his board. 2) Brandon Weeden gave him a great review, saying he has a far better worth ethic than Dez Bryant, having played with both.

7 Jacksonville Jaguars - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame
Could've been a pass rush, but I think Floyd has done enough for the Jags to get interested.

8 Miami Dolphins - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M
Stephen Ross has made this selection. They have to take RT here.

9 Carolina Panthers - Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi St.

Cox flies off the board at #9
They have a big whole in the middle of their DL. They also need corners, but Cox is better than any of the possible #2 corners out there.

10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (FROM BUF) - Luke Keuchly, MLB, Boston College
The Bucs are ecstatic here. They could stay at 5 and take Keuchly there, but they get extra picks by moving down to 10 and still get one of the best players in the whole draft.

11 Kansas City Chiefs - David DeCastro, OG, USC
Only two OG have gone in the top 20 in the last 20 years, Steve Hutchinson, and Mike Iupati, both at 17. DeCastro has the potential to be better than both, so the Chiefs pull the trigger at 11.

TRADE! 12 New York Jets (FROM SEA) - Mark Barron, S, Alabama
The Jets love to move up, and now that DeCastro is off the board they can be pretty sure the Cowboys want Barron instead. They jump above Dallas to get a guy they love.

TRADE! 13 Philadelphia Eagles (FROM ARI) - Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis
With DeCastro AND Barron gone, the Eagles now get scared that Dallas is going to take THEIR guy, in Poe. They do a quick switch with the Cardinals, who really don't care about dropping down 2 spots as they need the extra pick they'll get. The Eagles plug up the middle, cover their still weak LB corp, and hope Poe isn't just a workout warrior.

14 Dallas Cowboys - Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina
The 3 they wanted just went 11, 12 and 13. They decide to help their awful secondary with the #2 corner.

15 Arizona Cardinals (FROM PHI) - Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa
Riley Rieff, a new Cardinal in my books
The Cards need to do something to protect whoever wins the QB spot, presumably Kolb.

16 Seattle Seahawks (FROM NYJ) - Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse
This guy may have only entered the public perception in recent weeks, but Jones has been on scouts minds for a while, particularly in Seattle.

17 Cincinnati Bengals (FROM OAK) - Cordy Glenn, OL, Georgia
I call him OL because he might end up playing tackle or guard. Either way, he'll sure up the Bengals line somewhere, in a way that signing FA Jacob Bell won't.

18 San Diego Chargers - Quinton Coples, DE, UNC
D-line help needed here. Coples has fallen a long way, but that's the price you pay for being a big of an enigma who doesn't really fit a defined role.

19 Chicago Bears - Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina
Realistically, they should go OL, but there isn't a surefire OT left on the board, and their interior line isn't too horrific with Roberto Garza and Chris Spencer. They take their BPA, who can play opposite and learn from Julius Peppers.

20 Tennessee Titans - Pete Konz, C, Wisconsin
The Titans couldn't get CJ2K moving last year. Since losing Kevin Mawae they've had terrible interior line play, and Pete Konz can plus in at C from day 1.

The man to rejuvenate CJ2K? Konz to Tennesse at #20

21 Cincinnati Bengals - Whitney Mercilus, DE/OLB, Illinois
Having protected their QB at 17, they now attack the opposition at 21.

22 Cleveland Browns - Steven Hill, WR, Georgia Tech
Another weapon for the offence. Whoever their QB is, he'll have the best chance to succeed with Richardson and Hill to help.

TRADE! 23 Baltimore Ravens (FROM DET) - Dont'a Hightower, ILB, Alabama
They make this move so they can have the next Ray Lewis. They also make this move so their divisional rivals don't get the next Ray Lewis with the very next selection.

24 Pittsburgh Steelers - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin
It's a real need, and now Hightower is gone they pick a baller who can also play C if Matt Birk struggles again.

25 Denver Broncos - Doug Martin, RB, Boise St.
They could really do with help at DT, but seeing as they're putting the franchise on Peyton's shoulders (and neck), they want a 3 down back who can not only get them some yards, but also stay in and block for Peyton. Martin is that guy. Knowshon isn't.

Martin, once a Bronco, always a Bronco...

26 Houston Texans - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
He'll be single covered with Andre Johnson on the other side of the field. Makes a good offence better.

27 New England Patriots (FROM NO) - Courtney Upshaw, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Patriots actually select a pass rusher? Good value here too.

28 Green Bay Packers - Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise St
Clay Matthews isn't as good unless there's a threat on the othe side. McClellin can not only get after the QB, but also play stoutly vs. the run. The Packers love him.

29 Detroit Lions (FROM BAL) - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama
They need someone to stop them giving up 45 points a game, and moving back 6 spots they'll get some later picks too, where they can address another need on the OL.

30 San Francisco 49ers - Michael Brockers, DT, LSU
The 49ers don't have a whole lot of needs. They have Coby Fleener and Alfonzo Dennard on their board, but having re-signed Carlos Rodgers I think they add their BPA and select Brockers. Putting him with Justin Smith could be ridiculous.

TRADE! 31 Tampa Bay Bucanneers (FROM NE) - Harrison Smith, FS, Notra Dame
There's no chance the Patriots make TWO first round selections! Having missed out on Claiborne, the Bucs jump back into the 1st round to take help for their secondary. They might look at Janoris Jenkins or Alfonzo Dennard, but they've had enough grief with Aqib Talib to take another CB who might be a problem.
Bucs jump back up to sure up their back-end with Harrison Smith

32 New York Giants - Jonathon Martin, OT, Stanford
Cardinals act as first round bookends. The Giants need OL help, and adding Martin would be ideal.
